He has also written various short stories and a book for youth workers entitled Never Work with Children!, now available as an eBook. He is working on a study of the boy's singing voice and the social as well as musical reasons why boys find it hard to sing. His short story 'Man of the Moment' was a winning entry in the Raw Cuts competition hosted by Channel 4 in 2006.
His choral drama Such is the Kingdom was performed by the Bannerman Learning Community and guests in Glasgow Cathedral, and is now available on DVD.
